Yard of the Quarter

Nominations for Fourth Quarter 2024 Yard Award have closed. Check back on December 29 for the winner announcement. The First Quarter 2025 Yard Nominations will open January 2, 2025.

The Yard of the Quarter (YOTQ) program aims to recognize and reward residents who demonstrate exceptional effort in maintaining their property’s curb appeal, thereby enhancing the overall appearance
and value of our community.

The Yard of the Quarter will be selected the last week of each quarter, (March, June, September and December) with an additional special holiday decoration award in December.

Eligibility:

  1. Members of the Landscape Committee are not eligible.
  2. A resident cannot win more than once in a calendar year.

Selection Criteria:

  1. General Appearance: The yard must be well-maintained, neat, and visually appealing.
  2. Lawn Maintenance: The lawn should be regularly mowed, edged, and free of weeds.
  3. Flower Beds: Flower beds should be weed-free, with seasonal color, proper mulching, and well-
    trimmed shrubs.
  4. Cleanliness: The yard must be free of debris, clutter, and any visible trash or recycling bins.
  5. Creativity: Unique landscaping features, such as garden art, water features, or creative
    plantings, are encouraged.

Judging Process:

  1. The Landscape Committee will conduct Quarterly inspections during the last week of each
    quarter.
  2. The committee will select one winner based on the established criteria.
  3. In December, the best-decorated home for the holiday season will be awarded.

Award:

  1. The winning yard will have a “Yard of the Quarter” sign placed in the yard for the entire next
    quarter.
  2. The winner will be featured on the community website and Facebook page.
  3. The winner will receive a gift card or other prize as determined by the City.
